Are you an experienced technical professional with a strong background in food compliance? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing business in a pivotal role, overseeing supplier assurance, due diligence, and technical compliance activities. With a focus on delivering excellence across food safety, legality, and responsible sourcing, this role offers the chance to lead a team, collaborate with key stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement.

You will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Leading and developing the technical compliance team, managing performance and supporting professional growth
• Overseeing supplier assurance and due diligence, ensuring all documentation, certifications, and approvals are accurate and up to date
• Managing compliance processes across food safety, pesticide residues, microbiology, ethical trading, and environmental standards
• Working with suppliers to close compliance gaps, resolve issues, and maintain strong relationships
• Supporting audits, recalls, and traceability exercises, providing accurate and timely reporting
• Monitoring compliance KPIs and ensuring performance against targets
• Staying up to date with industry legislation, retailer policies, and customer codes of practice, and communicating requirements to suppliers and internal teams
• Driving continuous improvement within compliance systems, processes, and supplier performance

What’s required?

• Experience in food manufacturing, retail, or fresh produce (highly desirable)
• Strong knowledge of food safety, compliance, and retailer/customer standards
• Understanding of pesticide residues, microbiology, and supplier auditing
• Previous experience managing supplier due diligence, certification, and documentation
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence suppliers and internal teams
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• IT proficiency, with experience using compliance or supplier systems beneficial
• Proven leadership and people management experience
