This is a great opportunity to step into a Supplier Technical Manager role where you’ll take ownership of supplier compliance, specifications, and technical standards across a diverse product range. You’ll act as the key link between suppliers and internal teams, ensuring all products meet food safety, legal, and customer requirements while supporting continuous improvement across the supply base.

You will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Managing and maintaining accurate product specifications, ensuring all supplier information is captured, reviewed, and approved
• Ensuring all due diligence documentation is in place, with a strong focus on food safety, legality, and accurate labelling
• Supporting internal teams including procurement, development, and operations to ensure compliance across products and suppliers
• Generating and maintaining technical documentation including specifications, quality attribute sheets, and product labelling
• Investigating compliance issues and product incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
• Supporting complaint investigations and contributing to incident management processes
• Monitoring supplier and product performance, identifying trends and driving improvement actions
• Managing supplier approval processes, including risk assessments and coordinating third-party audits
• Building strong relationships with suppliers to influence improvements in food safety, quality, and performance
• Conducting supplier visits to assess capabilities, risks, and opportunities for improvement
• Keeping up to date with food legislation and ensuring changes are implemented across the business
• Providing technical reports and insights to key stakeholders to support decision-making
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across supplier performance and technical standards

What’s required?

• Minimum HNC (or equivalent) in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline
• Experience in a technical role within food manufacturing, retail, or foodservice
• Strong knowledge of food law, labelling legislation, HACCP, and quality management systems
• Experience reviewing and approving product specifications and technical documentation
• Understanding of supplier assurance, due diligence, and audit processes
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• High attention to detail with strong organisational and problem-solving ability
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• IT proficiency including Microsoft Office and specification management systems
