This role offers the chance to be part of a growing savoury bakery business, working on major brand and B2B projects while supporting the launch of exciting new products. You’ll play a key part in ensuring compliance, accuracy, and excellence across all specification and technical documentation.
You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Managing the creation, maintenance, and approval of product specifications using customer portals and internal systems
- Ensuring all finished product specifications meet legal, nutritional, artwork, and customer standards
- Working closely with NPD to ensure raw material, ingredient, allergen, and process data is accurate and up to date
- Maintaining strong document control and traceability across all product launches
- Managing recipe control, including version updates and record keeping
- Supporting trial data collection, product measurements, and QA assessments where needed
- Providing evidence and support during internal and external audits
- Communicating effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve specification issues
- Tracking and implementing legislative or customer-driven changes in food labelling, allergens, and packaging
What’s required?
- A qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related subject
- Previous experience in food manufacturing or processing
- Knowledge of food labelling regulations, allergens, and nutrition
- Experience working with customer online specification systems
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure
- High attention to detail with technical and legal documentation
- Confident user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
