Are you a proven Technical Manager looking for a hands-on site role where you can lead standards, influence culture, and drive continuous improvement?

This is a demanding, site-based technical leadership position with responsibility for food safety, quality, and compliance across a manufacturing environment. You’ll play a key role in delivering factory initiatives, leading the technical team, and embedding a strong food safety culture, with clear long-term progression into broader group technical roles.

You will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Owning and maintaining food safety, quality, hygiene, and compliance standards across the site
• Leading the implementation and continuous improvement of the site Quality and Food Safety Management Systems, including HACCP and prerequisite programmes
• Acting as the senior technical authority on site for audits, customer visits, and regulatory inspections
• Ensuring the site remains audit-ready at all times and that corrective actions are closed out effectively
• Working closely with Operations, Engineering, and Planning teams to support safe, compliant factory performance
• Supporting new equipment commissioning and product launches to ensure right-first-time delivery
• Monitoring technical KPIs, analysing trends, and driving improvement plans across the site
• Leading, coaching, and developing the site technical team, with clear accountability and succession planning
• Driving a strong food safety and quality culture across all levels of the operation

What’s required?

• Proven experience in a Technical Manager role within an FMCG manufacturing environment
• Strong working knowledge of food safety, quality systems, and UK retailer requirements
• Experience leading customer, third-party, and certification audits
• HACCP Level 4 and Food Safety Level 4 (or equivalent)
• Lead Auditor qualification or strong audit leadership experience
• Confident, hands-on leadership style with strong communication and influencing skills
