Are you a hands-on NPD professional looking for the autonomy to lead exciting healthy snacking and confectionery projects from concept through to launch?
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-moving business where you’ll take ownership of NPD and innovation across a growing ambient grocery portfolio. Working on key retail accounts within the snacking category, this role offers flexible working with a minimum of 1 day per week in the office and would suit someone comfortable working remotely while travelling to Dorset when required.
The business is looking for an experienced developer with strong knowledge of health claims, ingredient functionality, and ambient grocery innovation. You’ll play a key role in shaping category strategy, developing market-leading products, and delivering bold innovation within the healthy snacking space while working closely with customers and cross-functional internal teams.
You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
• Leading product development projects from concept through to launch
• Developing and optimising recipes for taste, nutrition, quality, and cost
• Applying ingredient, flavour, and sensory knowledge across ambient grocery and snacking products
• Managing retailer-facing projects and maintaining strong customer relationships
• Leading tasting sessions, benchmarking, and product evaluations
• Supporting strategic innovation through market trends and consumer insight analysis
• Managing critical paths and ensuring projects are delivered on time
• Preparing and delivering customer presentations and development updates
• Working cross-functionally with buying, technical, supply chain, and design teams
• Supporting factory trials, sample reviews, and finished product quality checks
• Maintaining project trackers, timelines, and development documentation
• Driving continuous improvement and identifying innovative opportunities within the category
What’s required?
• Minimum 3 years’ experience within NPD, ideally within ambient grocery or snacking
• Experience working with retailer accounts
• Strong knowledge of health claims, nutrition, and food science
• Hands-on product development experience from concept through to launch
• Experience using Nutri-calc or equivalent systems would be advantageous
• Strong project management and critical path management skills
• Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects effectively
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Creative, commercially aware, and solutions-focused mindset
• Passion for nutrition, wellbeing, and emerging food trends
