Join a dynamic team developing delicious sweet bakery products for leading customers. You’ll play a key part in innovation and EPD, working closely with operations and customers to bring new ideas to life and ensure every product is best in class.
You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Leading NPD and EPD projects from concept to launch, delivering high-quality, commercially viable products.
- Managing hands-on development and trials in a practical, labour-intensive environment.
- Building and maintaining strong customer relationships, attending meetings, and presenting new concepts.
- Collaborating with marketing, process, and operations teams to ensure product feasibility and excellence.
- Monitoring category trends, benchmarking competitor activity, and identifying opportunities for innovation.
- Ensuring all recipes, costings, and administrative systems are accurate and compliant.
- Supporting the team with knowledge sharing and continuous improvement in baking and technical expertise.
- Maintaining strong hygiene and safety standards in the development kitchen.
What’s required?
- Degree or HND in Food Science, Bakery Science, Chemistry, or related discipline.
- 3–4 years’ experience in a customer-facing bakery development role.
- Strong planning, organisation, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects under pressure.
- Strong technical understanding of bakery processes and HACCP principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and commercial understanding.
- Creative flair with a genuine enthusiasm for food and product innovation.
- Confident using Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
