Are you an experienced Quality Manager looking for your next challenge?
We’re hiring a Quality Manager on a 1-year fixed-term contract, based in Oxfordshire. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-risk food manufacturing environment where you’ll play a key role in maintaining and improving site standards, overseeing the QMS, and leading on-site audits and compliance initiatives.

This role will suit a technically strong, hands-on individual with a Food Science or Food Technology background, a solid understanding of BRC, food safety legislation, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement. You’ll work closely with customers, production, and technical teams to uphold best-in-class food safety, hygiene, and product quality standards across the board.

You will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Driving continuous improvement and compliance through a robust Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Supporting and preparing for customer, regulatory, and 3rd party audits, including BRC, MSC, and ASC
  • Managing all aspects of non-conformance investigations, complaints, raw material intake checks, traceability, labelling, and environmental monitoring
  • Reviewing and maintaining QMS documentation, artwork and labelling approval, product specs, and managing internal and external sample testing
  • Promoting a strong food safety culture, managing product traceability and recall procedures, and supporting food safety training programmes
  • Leading and developing internal audit programmes, overseeing the Quality Controller, and maintaining strong communication with customers, suppliers, and production
  • Conducting specification reviews, product quality assessments, and managing data via Assure and Nutritics systems
  • Analysing KPI and quality performance data to drive improvement initiatives
  • Leading allergen management and supporting NPD and technical project delivery
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety requirements, including appropriate PPE usage and best practice behaviour

What’s required?

  • A Food Science or Technology degree (or equivalent)
  • Ideally HACCP Level 3 or above, with Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor qualification
  • Experience in high-risk food manufacturing, preferably with knowledge of seafood and its safety requirements
  • Familiarity with food safety legislation, BRC standards, and QMS systems
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Strong planning, organisational, and project management skills
  • High attention to detail, tenacity, and a drive to see tasks through to completion
  • Previous experience with specification and artwork review, and use of recipe management systems (e.g. Assure, Nutritics)
  • A full, clean driver’s licence

What’s in it for you?
A key role in a respected, high-care manufacturing environment where you can bring real impact to food safety, quality, and compliance systems. A great fit for someone looking to build on technical leadership experience in a values-led, customer-focused business.
