Working closely with production and technical teams, you’ll ensure the highest standards of food safety, legality, and quality are maintained while driving continuous improvement across the factory. You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
• Leading and developing the QA team to ensure strong performance, engagement, and accountability
• Supporting the continuous improvement of the site Quality Management System (QMS)
• Ensuring compliance with food safety legislation, customer requirements, and third-party standards
• Providing daily quality and technical support to operations across the factory floor
• Overseeing and verifying CCP checks and production procedures
• Supporting the delivery of internal audits including GMP, hygiene, and traceability, ensuring corrective actions are completed
• Preparing for and supporting customer, BRCGS, and third-party audits
• Managing quality incidents, non-conformances, and root cause investigations
• Controlling product holds, releases, rework processes, and associated documentation
• Supporting the investigation of customer complaints and implementing corrective actions
• Analysing quality performance data and identifying trends to support continuous improvement
• Promoting a strong food safety and quality culture across all departments
• Supporting HACCP reviews and ensuring prerequisite programmes are effectively maintained
What’s required?
• Degree in Food Science or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience)
• Experience working within a quality or technical role in food manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of HACCP and quality management systems
• Ability to work closely with site management and cross-functional teams
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proactive approach with the confidence to drive improvements and influence teams
• Experience leading or supervising QA teams is beneficial
