Are you a Quality Manager ready to take the next step toward technical leadership within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment?
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Quality Manager looking to progress toward a broader technical leadership role. Working within a global food manufacturer producing across multiple categories, you’ll operate in a dynamic environment supplying both branded products and major UK retailers. The role offers strong exposure across the technical function, allowing you to influence food safety, quality systems, and operational performance while developing the leadership experience needed for future progression.
You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
• Maintaining and continuously improving the site Food Safety & Quality Management System (FSQMS)
• Ensuring full compliance with BRCGS, customer codes of practice, and UK food legislation
• Driving food safety culture across the site and promoting strong technical standards across all departments
• Identifying food safety and compliance risks and implementing effective mitigation strategies
• Managing and overseeing HACCP, TACCP, and VACCP systems, ensuring they remain robust and up to date
• Leading and developing the Quality Assurance team, providing coaching and support to drive continuous improvement
• Managing customer audits, site visits, and regulatory inspections, ensuring audit readiness at all times
• Delivering and managing the internal audit programme and ensuring non-conformances are effectively closed out
• Maintaining strong factory standards across hygiene, GMP, and housekeeping
• Leading investigations into product non-conformance, contamination risks, and quality issues
• Managing customer complaints, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions
• Overseeing microbiological monitoring programmes, allergen controls, environmental monitoring, and shelf-life validation
• Ensuring robust traceability, authenticity, and raw material compliance systems are maintained
• Supporting NPD and EPD activity, ensuring food safety by design through development and change control processes
• Managing specification and artwork approvals and supporting product launch readiness
• Monitoring technical KPIs and driving site-wide improvement through structured problem-solving approaches
• Reporting technical performance, risks, and improvement actions to senior leadership teams
• Ensuring compliance with health & safety requirements and promoting safe working practices across the site
What’s required?
• Degree in Microbiology, Food Science, or a related discipline
• Experience in a Quality Manager, QA Manager, or similar role within UK food manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of BRCGS standards, HACCP (Level 4), Food Safety Level 4, and UK food legislation
• Proven experience supporting customer, retailer, and third-party audits
• Experience working with major UK retailers and retailer technical systems
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence teams across the factory environment
• Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
• Passion for food safety, quality, and continuous improvement
