You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Ensure adherence to the site’s Quality Management System, driving a culture of continuous improvement
- Manage and develop a team of Quality Inspectors, overseeing goods-in, storage checks, and customer complaint responses
- Provide technical support and guidance on food safety, quality, and compliance matters
- Oversee specialist operations including fresh produce and butchery quality control
- Monitor product quality, manage rejections, and analyse complaints to drive improvement
- Support and maintain BRC Storage & Distribution accreditation, alongside other customer and third-party standards
- Lead and support internal and external audits, including MSC / ASC and other certifications
- Conduct site audits on standards such as GMP and fabrication
- Collaborate with technical colleagues and wider teams to ensure customer requirements and specifications are consistently met
What’s Required?
- Degree in Food Science or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- HACCP Level 3 (minimum) and Advanced Food Hygiene qualification
- Previous experience in Quality Management within FMCG, ideally food manufacturing or distribution
- Strong knowledge of BRC Standards and audit processes
- Internal Auditor qualification desirable
- Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to lead a team
- IT proficiency, including Excel and Teams
- Full UK driving licence
