This is a hands-on role where your leadership and attention to detail will directly impact product integrity, compliance, and consumer trust.

Whether your strength lies in process improvement, incident management, or quality systems, this role gives you the platform to shape and embed a quality-first culture at every level. If you're motivated by structure, leadership, and delivering industry-leading results—this is the role for you.

You will be responsible for, but not limited to:

Food Safety & Quality Leadership

  • Take ownership of food safety and quality incident management, ensuring swift resolution and continuous improvement
  • Serve as Deputy Team Leader of the site’s HACCP Plan
  • Oversee complaints and NCR investigations, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective/preventive actions
  • Ensure hygiene and fabrication inspections are conducted to the required standard
  • Manage and ensure timely submission of micro sampling, swabbing, DNA sample despatch, and other regulatory testing

Team & Resource Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the QA team, ensuring full coverage of key duties
  • Plan and manage QA resource to meet site demands and compliance requirements
  • Build a proactive, accountable team culture that drives food safety, quality and compliance

Quality Systems & Compliance

  • Maintain and continuously improve the site Quality Management System (QMS) including EQMS records, audits, SOPs, and customer complaint logs
  • Ensure timely calibration of equipment and accurate record-keeping
  • Take responsibility for the factory's Foreign Body (FB) plan
  • Support and contribute to all 3rd party, BRC, Red Tractor, and customer audits
  • Stay updated on legislative and customer standard changes and implement them effectively onsite

What's Required?

  • Proven experience in a food manufacturing quality or technical leadership role
  • In-depth understanding of food safety legislation, QMS systems, and major audit schemes (e.g. BRC, Red Tractor)
  • Strong experience managing quality incidents and driving improvements
  • A confident, structured leader who thrives on accountability and collaboration
  • Experience in meat processing and/or animal welfare practices (desirable but not essential)

What’s in it for you?
A site-wide leadership role where you’ll influence everything from food safety culture to audit performance, team development, and production standards. You’ll have autonomy, responsibility, and the opportunity to be a major driver of quality excellence within the business.
