We’re hiring a Procurement Buyer to join a dynamic and fast-paced procurement team based in Surrey. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a commercially focused role where you’ll take ownership of sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships to deliver the best quality, price, and lead times.
If you have a proven track record in procurement—ideally within the food industry—and thrive in a collaborative, high-energy environment, this could be the role for you.
You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Product Sourcing – Identify, evaluate, and source products that meet customer specifications while delivering optimal price, quality, and lead time
- Supplier Negotiations – Secure competitive commercial terms, including price, payment, and delivery schedules
- Ethical Sourcing – Ensure compliance with ethical sourcing and sustainability policies
- Quality & Logistics – Liaise with logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries, manage imports, customs processes, and assist with quality control when needed
- Tender Management – Lead customer tenders and provide the Sales & Marketing team with accurate pricing, product data, and insights
- Order Management – Process and manage orders accurately, maintaining complete documentation in line with company procedures
- Cross-functional Collaboration – Work with the Demand Planner and Operations Director to meet stock availability and delivery targets
- Supplier Relationship Management – Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while actively seeking new partnerships for cost-effectiveness, quality, and delivery improvements
- Customer Understanding – Develop a clear understanding of customer brands and their specific requirements
What’s required?
- Proven experience in a buying role, ideally in the food industry
- Strong track record in sourcing, negotiating, and supplier management
- Tenacious and determined, with a ‘can-do’ attitude towards problem-solving
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
- Strong interpersonal and time management skills
- Confident with IT systems, particularly spreadsheets
- Knowledge of international shipping, duties, and delivery processes (beneficial)
- French or Spanish language skills (beneficial but not essential)

What’s in it for you?
