Are you a Food Science graduate looking for the perfect opportunity to kick-start your career in process development?
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced food manufacturing business, working closely with the concept team to bring innovative branded and own-label products to life. Based in Manchester, you'll play a key role in bridging the gap between the development kitchen and the factory floor, ensuring new products transition smoothly from concept through to launch. This role would suit an enthusiastic graduate who enjoys problem-solving, working cross-functionally, and seeing products come to life in production.
You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
• Supporting the scale-up of new products from concept through to successful production launch
• Planning, coordinating, and supporting factory trials and production evaluations
• Working closely with NPD, operations, and other internal teams to ensure successful launches
• Monitoring trial outcomes, identifying issues, and recommending improvements to processes and yields
• Ensuring products meet internal, customer, quality, and food safety standards
• Developing practical launch plans and supporting the wider Process Development team
• Building strong relationships across the business to facilitate effective project delivery
• Supporting customer visits and presentations during production trials
• Working with purchasing teams to ensure materials are available for launch activities
• Investigating production processes and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
• Preparing process documentation, specifications, and operating procedures
• Providing hands-on support during initial production runs and troubleshooting where required
What's required?
• A Food Science degree or equivalent food-related qualification
• A passion for food and an interest in process development and product launches
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
• Strong data analysis and IT skills
• A motivated and enthusiastic approach with a willingness to learn
• Ability to build strong relationships and work effectively with multiple teams
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Previous food manufacturing experience would be advantageous, although not essential
