Are you an experienced Packaging Technologist looking to take ownership of exciting, high-impact projects?
This is a UK-wide role within a fast-paced, multi-site food manufacturing environment, offering hybrid working and travel to sites as required. You’ll join a strong, collaborative team developing innovative, sustainable, and commercially viable packaging solutions across a variety of materials and formats.
You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Developing and specifying packaging that aligns with business, operational, and customer requirements.
- Leading packaging trials, testing, and validation to ensure materials are efficient, compliant, and fit for purpose.
- Collaborating with suppliers and cross-functional teams to drive packaging innovation and sustainability.
- Supporting the roll-out of new packaging formats across sites, ensuring process and equipment compatibility.
- Managing packaging documentation, due diligence, and data for compliance and sustainability reporting.
- Identifying cost-effective alternatives, supporting SKU simplification, and driving continuous improvement.
- Ensuring all packaging meets relevant environmental and legislative standards (e.g. OPRL, EPR, WRAP).
What’s required?
- Honours degree in Packaging Technology, Product Design, Engineering, or a related field (essential).
- Demonstrable experience in packaging development within food or FMCG manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of packaging materials, machinery integration, and sustainability best practices.
- Excellent communication, project management, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to multiple sites.
