Ready to take ownership of exciting NPD projects from concept to launch?
This NPD Technologist role offers international exposure, the chance to work directly with major retailers, and huge scope for progression. You’ll manage your own projects, work in a business with a strong innovation focus, and be part of a collaborative team shaping the next generation of products.

You will be responsible for, but not limited to:

New Product Development

  • Delivering NPD from concept to launch, ensuring alignment with product briefs and commercial feasibility
  • Managing customer visits, presentations, and product showcases professionally and knowledgeably
  • Coordinating all aspects of the NPD process, ensuring clear procedures, effective communication, and compliance at each stage
  • Sourcing raw materials in line with preferred supplier lists and customer brand standards
  • Modifying existing recipes for cost, nutritional, or quality improvements
  • Leading product benchmarking and new product panels internally and with customers
  • Overseeing smooth project handovers to factory teams, attending trials, and supporting launches
  • Working hands-on in the kitchen when required

Innovation & Market Awareness

  • Maintaining awareness of food trends, competitor launches, and retail activity through regular benchmarking and store visits
  • Attending or leading innovation sessions, brainstorming workshops, and ingredient trials
  • Working closely with marketing to improve consumer insight

Customer Engagement

  • Building strong relationships with retail customers through regular updates and collaborative development
  • Presenting products with confidence, showcasing ingredient, process, and category expertise
  • Coordinating and communicating project statuses to internal and external stakeholders

What’s required?

Essential:

  • 1–2 years’ experience in an NPD role with retail customer exposure
  • Degree in Food Science or related discipline
  • Proven project management and time management skills
  • Experience presenting to customers and managing product launches
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work cross-functionally
  • Creativity, curiosity, and confidence to challenge the norm
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Desirable:

  • Strong category knowledge and understanding of consumer trends
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent presentation skills and attention to detail
