You will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Researching and understanding standards required for new products/categories across proposed markets
• Documenting and communicating product requirements to ensure successful launches
• Creating test plans, checking formulations, producing/reviewing samples, and ensuring compliance pre- and post-market
• Managing trials, working with suppliers and bakers to deliver accurate and cost-effective testing in line with specifications
• Ensuring all testing is completed within agreed timescales to meet the critical path
• Proactively risk-assessing and supporting on product specifications, line lists, instructions, labelling, and artwork
• Reviewing artwork, pre-production and production samples for assigned products
• Staying up to date with technical and legal requirements, attending training/conferences, and cascading knowledge internally
• Liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure quality and on-time delivery of customer orders
• Supporting the NPD production process, identifying challenges and working with the bakery to resolve
• Following all health & safety requirements, including PPE use, and ensuring personal and team safety

What’s required?

• Previous experience in a similar NPD or technical role within food manufacturing (bakery experience desirable)
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Excellent communication skills, able to work cross-functionally and with external partners
• Problem-solving mindset, with the confidence to make recommendations and take initiative
• Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
