Are you an NPD Technologist looking to step up, or a Senior NPD Technologist ready for a new challenge?

We’re looking for a proactive and collaborative individual to join a dynamic food manufacturing team in a permanent role. You’ll be at the heart of exciting development projects—liaising across departments, working closely with both Development and Process teams, and playing a key role in driving innovation forward.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll be involved in all aspects of the business, with regular customer-facing responsibilities alongside the Head of NPD. It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is confident managing multiple projects from concept through to launch.

You will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Capture accurate recipe details for use in submission forms, handovers, and costings.
  • Review development recipes critically to identify any process challenges, raising concerns early to ensure accurate costing and smooth handover.
  • Identify and highlight any NRM (Nutritional Reformulation Measures) requirements within recipe documentation to ensure costings reflect these accurately.
  • Support the management of NRM and supplier processes, completing sourcing specifications and gathering all necessary raw material specifications and pricing for accurate costings.
  • Identify any new packaging requirements within recipe documents, ensuring appropriate sourcing, costing, and specification processes have been followed.
  • Provide feedback on new raw materials and packaging to ensure effective supplier communication and prioritisation.
  • Complete handover documents accurately—including recipes, methods, reheat information, and QAS—to enable efficient and accurate trials and support the creation of customer specifications.
  • Offer ad hoc support during factory trials and first productions as required.
  • Continuously review and improve the recipe input process in collaboration with key stakeholders to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Attend relevant meetings including Concept to Launch, handovers, and raw material or packaging discussions, contributing to cross-functional alignment and project success.

What's required?

  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in food development and/or process.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates effective self-management, including motivation, planning, prioritisation, and time management.
  • Strong focus on quality and continuous improvement.
