This is a fantastic opportunity for a National Account Controller to take ownership of key customer relationships and lead cross-functional collaboration within a fast-paced and ambitious food business. You’ll be responsible for managing a National Account Manager and overseeing the delivery of commercial strategy across both branded and private label accounts. With a strong focus on strategic planning and day-to-day execution, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving performance, identifying opportunities, and ensuring alignment with customer KPIs.
The role requires a commercially astute individual with proven leadership skills, excellent stakeholder management, and the ability to interpret and act on commercial data. You’ll work closely with internal teams across sales, marketing, supply chain, and finance to ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction. Based within a reasonable commuting distance to the office, you’ll be part of a business that values agility, collaboration, and continuous improvement, offering real scope to make an impact and grow within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Lead and manage a National Account Manager, ensuring strong performance and development.
- Oversee and guide a cross-functional team to deliver against commercial goals.
- Develop and execute strategic commercial plans aligned with business objectives.
- Manage key customer relationships, acting as a senior point of contact.
- Ensure day-to-day commercial operations run smoothly and effectively.
- Collaborate with internal departments including marketing, supply chain, and finance.
- Interpret and utilise commercial data to inform decision-making and strategy.
- Support the delivery of customer KPIs and drive account performance.
- Contribute to business planning and wider commercial strategy development.
- Act as a senior leader within the team, promoting collaboration, accountability, and results.
What's required?
- Proven commercial mindset with the ability to drive business performance.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing teams across functions.
- Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on operational management.
- Experience managing National Account Managers or equivalent commercial roles.
- Understanding of the retail environment and key customer KPIs.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams effectively.
- Experience in branded and/or private label food environments is advantageous.
- Comfortable presenting commercial insights and strategies with clarity and impact.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Must be based within a reasonable commuting distance to the office.
What's in it for you?
