You will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide senior-level technical expertise, ensuring food safety, compliance, and quality standards align with business goals and best practice.
  • Technical Governance: Oversee food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance in line with legal, customer, and BRCGS requirements.
  • Supplier & Customer Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and suppliers, ensuring products meet agreed specifications.
  • Quality Management System (QMS): Manage and continuously improve the QMS to drive operational and quality excellence.
  • Audit & Compliance: Lead customer, third-party, and internal audits, maintaining high standards of accreditation and compliance.
  • HACCP & Risk Management: Lead the HACCP team, ensuring robust risk assessments, incident management, and continuous improvement.
  • Supplier Assurance: Oversee supplier approval and audit programmes to uphold integrity and compliance across the supply chain.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop the technical team, fostering capability growth and a culture of excellence.

What’s Required?

  • Extensive experience in a senior technical or quality management position within the food manufacturing industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, food safety legislation, and retailer technical standards.
  • Proven success in leading audits, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring technical compliance.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience developing high-performing teams.
  • Extensive working knowledge of Listeria management, ready-to-eat (RTE) food safety, and root cause analysis (RCA).
