Ready to take ownership of multi-million-pound investment projects and drive strategic procurement on a global scale?


We’re looking for a Head of Capex to lead high-value capital expenditure and utilities procurement, working closely with engineering, sustainability, and operations teams. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping sourcing strategies, managing key supplier relationships, and ensuring our investments deliver maximum long-term value. This is a high-impact position, offering the chance to work across international sites and influence projects from planning through to execution.

You will be responsible for, but not limited to:

Capital Expenditure (approx. £100m spend per year):

  • Mapping medium to long-term requirements and identifying strategic focus areas
  • Assessing the market to source and qualify potential new suppliers
  • Developing and implementing sourcing strategies in collaboration with engineering teams
  • Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships, driving standardisation and innovation
  • Negotiating and managing global supplier agreements and contracts
  • Creating procurement guidelines and preferred supplier lists for delegated local projects

Utilities (approx. £25m spend per year):

  • Developing a multi-year strategy for utilities procurement and supplier partnerships
  • Monitoring energy markets, trends, and regulatory changes to identify opportunities
  • Driving cost-saving initiatives and sustainability improvements, including CO₂ reduction projects
  • Working with cross-functional teams to improve energy efficiency and manage budgets
  • Supporting energy hedging strategies and ensuring timely contract execution for multiple global locations
  • Overseeing supplier performance, price variance, and accurate billing reconciliation

What’s required?

  • Proven procurement leadership experience with responsibility for significant Capex and/or utilities spend
  • Strong track record in supplier relationship management, sourcing strategy, and contract negotiation
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to identify value creation opportunities
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally and influencing at a senior level
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation
  • International exposure and ability to manage projects across multiple sites beneficial
