This is an excellent opportunity to work within a business that values autonomy, technical rigour, and strong supplier relationships — while offering scope for career development and cross-functional exposure.

  • Completing and maintaining accurate technical specifications
  • Leading supplier approval, ongoing management, and performance reviews
  • Supporting the launch of new products from concept through to delivery
  • Coordinating product sampling, benchmarking, and internal tastings
  • Staying up to date with changes in legislation and retailer requirements
  • Overseeing packaging development and approval processes
  • Liaising with the supply base to address queries and ensure compliance
  • Attending factory visits and audits to support quality standards
  • Collaborating cross-functionally to meet technical and commercial expectations

What’s required?

  • Degree-level qualification in Food Science or a related field
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing technical or quality role
  • Proven ability to manage specifications and understand technical documentation
  • Strong working knowledge of HACCP and BRC standards
  • Familiarity with UK retailer codes of practice and systems
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
