Are you an experienced food safety professional looking for a newly created role where you can shape site standards and drive a strong compliance culture?

This is an exciting opportunity to step into a highly influential position within a global organisation, where food safety sits at the heart of operational excellence. With clear progression pathways and strong central support, you’ll have the autonomy to define the role, strengthen systems, and embed a proactive food safety culture across the site.

You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest standards of compliance, training, and continuous improvement - making a real impact on both day-to-day performance and long-term strategy.

You will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Developing, implementing, and managing site food safety policies and procedures aligned with global standards
• Ensuring full compliance with HACCP, GMP, and all relevant food safety regulations
• Conducting audits, inspections, and ongoing monitoring of food safety practices across the plant
• Acting as the site lead trainer, coaching teams on hygiene, HACCP, pest control, and best practice
• Owning and maintaining the HACCP plan, CCP/OPrP monitoring, and prerequisite programmes
• Reviewing environmental monitoring and sanitation results, driving corrective actions where required
• Managing allergen controls and validation activity to meet customer and regulatory requirements
• Investigating incidents and trends, using root cause analysis to reduce recurrence
• Working closely with production and quality teams to strengthen food safety culture
• Maintaining accurate documentation, compliance records, and corrective action tracking
• Coordinating pest control activity with external partners to ensure effective site standards

What’s required?

• Degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a food safety or compliance role within food manufacturing
• Strong working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, EMP, and food safety management systems
• Experience working to GFSI-recognised standards such as BRC or FSSC 22000
• Confident communicator with the ability to train, influence, and engage stakeholders at all levels
• Strong organisational, analytical, and IT skills
