Are you an experienced Development Chef looking to work at the heart of innovation for a global food business?

This is an exciting opportunity to join the innovation centre of a leading international manufacturer, developing products within the added value category for both existing and new customers. Based in the West Midlands, you'll work closely with international customers and suppliers, taking products from concept through to launch whilst travelling to customer sites and supporting launches. This role would suit someone with previous food manufacturing experience who enjoys combining creativity with commercial awareness and building strong customer relationships.

You will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Managing customer development projects from brief through to launch, ensuring products meet customer expectations and commercial objectives
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers through regular communication and collaboration
• Working cross-functionally with commercial teams to identify and support new business opportunities
• Developing innovative and commercially viable products that enhance the business portfolio
• Researching market trends and proactively identifying opportunities for innovation and product improvement
• Delivering engaging product presentations and showcasing new concepts to customers
• Working closely with suppliers throughout the development process, both in the kitchen and factory environment
• Writing clear development briefs and managing projects through the concept-to-launch process
• Evaluating products against competitors and providing insight to support future development activities
• Managing sample submissions and ensuring products are delivered to customers accurately and on time
• Maintaining strong communication with internal stakeholders to ensure projects remain on track
• Supporting and promoting a strong food safety culture across the business
• Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures relevant to the role

What's required?

• Previous Development Chef or NPD experience within food manufacturing
• A passion for food innovation and a strong understanding of the added value sector
• Experience working with customers and suppliers in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Experience using Nutricalc or similar systems would be advantageous
• A proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset
• Strong attention to detail and a pride in delivering high-quality work
• A collaborative approach and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
• A willingness to travel to customers and support product launches when required
